“The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.”

How We Are Supported

Grace Valley Ministries is a faith based ministry.  We are supported by the gifts of those who believe in what we’re doing and feel called to invest in a ministry of care for pastors and other servants of the Lord who are in vocational ministry.

Although we have a vision that exceeds our resources, we believe the Lord will provide.   We plan to develop a retreat center that will serve both the local community as well as those in vocational ministry. Cottages will provide lodging for Christian clergy and their families as they receive counseling and encouragement- all free of charge. In order to accomplish this God-sized vision, we need resources to purchase adjoining property, build facilities and support our staff. We are fully dependent upon His miraculous provision through kingdom-minded donors. Steven Furtick wrote: “If your vision doesn’t intimidate you, it’s probably an insult to God.” (From Sun Stand Still.)

Cheryl Merrefield was first given the vision of Grace Valley Ministries. She responded by praying that God would bring partners to help fulfill that vision. Cheryl and her husband, Dan, then donated over 11 acres of their land to the ministry. Their example of giving continues to be the philosophy of Grace Valley Ministries. God answered prayer by calling Phil and Sue Engelman as well as Cliff and Melissa Hamilton to minister directly to pastors and their families. God has also provided wonderful board members, advisors, and various individuals who have caught the vision and desire to be a part of what the Lord is doing.

In 2014, God brought Ken and Gloria Stumbo to our team.  Ken brought years of experience working with Fairhaven Ministries in Elizabethton, TN, in which he had the primary hand in the building out of the retreat center.  Gloria served the ministry faithfully as well alongside Ken.  They have added much to our staff since coming and Ken has helped us take our first steps toward building.

What about you?  Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us to minister to God’s servants?   This is an exciting time at Grace Valley Ministries. We have already seen God do things only He could accomplish, and we know this is only the beginning.  Would you join us in helping those God is using to build His Church?
