  • Romans 13:9-10 February 21, 2018
“The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.”

Grace Valley Counseling

The Grace Valley Counseling Ministry is offered to pastors and ministry workers free of charge.

Phil and Sue Engelman

Phil and Sue Engelman have been married for 44 years and have four children and eight grandchildren. God gave them the vision for a ministry like Grace Valley in 1989, but they continued on in pastoral ministry for 22 more years before moving to Canton to help bring Grace Valley Ministries into being.   The challenges of church ministry, many life trials, and years of counseling have equipped them with listening ears and compassionate hearts for the servants of the Lord.

Phil has an M.A. in Religion from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, after obtaining a B.A. in Biblical Education from Florida Bible College.  Not including his years in part time youth ministry, Phil has 33 years of full time pastoral ministry experience as the lead pastor of three churches. and an associate pastor for one church.  He planted his most recent church in 1996 in Palm Harbor, FL and remained 15 years before the start of Grace Valley Ministries.

Through her life experiences, Sue has become a dynamic encourager of many. She is a writer and health coach, highly trained in nutrition and fitness with tremendous insights to offer people in pain both emotionally and physically.

With compassionate hearts, wisdom through experience, and God’s healing word, they are well equipped to minister grace to those who minister.

Cliff and Melissa Hamilton

Cliff and Melissa Hamilton have been married for 12 years and have two children, Kate, 9, and Maggie, 6. They join our team after living in Memphis, TN where Melissa taught high school science and Cliff  worked as a high school counselor, and as a lead therapist doing individual and group counseling with children and adolescents at a private mental health facility. Cliff received his B.S. in Psychology from Covenant College, his M.S. in School Counseling from the University of Memphis, and is a National Certified Counselor, NCC, and Licensed Associate Professional Counselor, LAPC.  Cliff also works as a counselor at a local middle school in Canton.

Cliff and Melissa feel blessed at the timing and opportunity of God’s calling to Grace Valley Ministries. Cliff has a heart for serving those in ministry, and a passion for encouraging, counseling, and walking alongside these families, helping them deal with the stresses they encounter as they serve.

As Associate Ministry Director for Grace Valley, Cliff’s ministry will focus on connecting with families in the ministry, creating bonds of encouragement and healing in an open and faithful Christian setting, and creating opportunities for fun and enjoyment in God’s creation through small groups and planned outings.
