“The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.”

It’s Time….to Share a Vision

The statistics are shocking:

Between 60%-80% of pastors entering ministry now will leave within 10 years, never to return.

80% of pastors believe that pastoral ministry adversely affects their families.

70% of pastors do not have someone they consider a close friend.

Estimates suggest 1,500 pastors drop out of the ministry every month.

Here is the bottom line:

Pastors and missionaries are on the front lines in spiritual battle.

They are being wounded and beaten up in record numbers.

They desperately need restoration & healing so they can continue to “fight the good fight”.

A Vision to Share:

What if pastors, missionaries and their families had a safe place to retreat to for healing?

What if spiritual counseling and cottages were available free of charge?

What if God called “His flock” to help restore “His shepherds”?

I have heard the call to become part of God’s vision….Grace Valley Ministries.

It is time to share this vision because:

You may know a wounded pastor or missionary in need of restoration.

We covet your prayers.  This ministry is in the infant stages.  Cottages are yet to be build and more land is yet to be required.

God may be calling you to help financially.  If the need is not made known, how can the flock respond?

If God is stirring your heart, please be obedient to the call.

in Him,

Hold Up Their Hands

Exodus 17:8-13 describes how the Israelites defeated the Amalekites.  As Joshua was fighting the battle, Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill.  As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.  Moses eventually became so tired that they took a stone and put it under him for him to sit on.  Then Aaron and Hur held up Moses’ hands so that his hands remained steady till sunset.  So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword.

Grace Valley Ministries exists to help those on the front lines of battle, the Joshuas of ministry…those that are in the trenches of the battle…fighting with the sword of the Spirit.  Although the Lord is with them, the battle is fierce and not without casualties.  Phil, Sue, Cliff and Cheryl are being used by the Lord to win the battle.  They are lifting their arms as they are ministering to the hurting and wounded.

Their arms will become tired.  We are being called to hold up their hands.  Although the ultimate victory has been won, the battle must be fought.  Let’s become participants in the battle by uplifting God’s servants.  How do we do that?  How do we hold up their hands as Aaron and Hur held up Moses’ hands?

We pray fervently for Phil, Sue, Cliff and Cheryl.  We encourage them by letting them know that we are beside them in battle…they they are not alone.  We support them in tangible, monetary ways.  Grace Valley Ministries may not have a physical structure at this point, but the ministry is in full swing.  Phil and Cliff are meeting with pastor’s groups and pouring themselves into these men.  Many are opening up in unbelievable ways.  Healing is occurring.  Sue is counseling one on one and seeing amazing results as the Lord restores and renews.  Cheryl is continuing to seek God’s vision for this ministry while attending to the “behind the scenes” details.  God is laying the spiritual foundation before providing any physical building.  May we not only catch God’s vision, but see the need to lend financial support to what He is doing.

Ask the Lord how you can “hold up their hands”.  God will show you practical ways to come along side Phil, Sue, Cliff and Cheryl.  He will reveal how your strength can be infused into them.  Galatians 6:9-10 states, let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.  Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.    We have the opportunity.  May we seize the moment and participate wholeheartedly in winning God’s battle by holding up their hands.  To God be the Glory!

God is Able

On a recent trip to the beach, Creator God shouted this to my heart:  How do six seagulls fly in formation inches above the water, yet none of their wings touch the waves?  How do the tides come in and go out with such precision that their times are published in newspapers before I bring it to pass?  How do you know where to look in the sky for the sun to rise and then how does it rise at exactly the time predicted…day after day….year after year…..century after century?  I Am Creator God.  I Am mighty in power.  I Am sovereign over all that I have made.

Through the thunder of the waves and the beauty of the sunrise, I heard a still small voice that called for my help.  There are those that are spiritually wounded on the front lines of battle.  They desperately need help.  Will I be Jesus’ hands and feet?  Will I communicate God’s love and support in tangible ways?  Will I come along side the hurting in order to equip them to return to battle?

Although I have been called, I feel inadequate for the task before us.  Then the Lord reminded me of what He shouted to me on the beach.  If He can create birds to instinctively know how to fly low over the water, control the tides and rising and setting of the sun, then enabling the vision of Grace Valley Ministries to become a reality is not too difficult for Him!

There are two Scriptures the Lord has recently brought to my mind.  I John 5:14-15 states, This is the confidence we have in approaching God:  that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.  And if we know that he hears us- whatever we ask- we know that we have what we asked of him.  In Luke 11:5-10, Jesus describes a man who went to his friend’s house to borrow some bread for another friend.  Although the neighbor was already in bed and did not want to get up, he did “because of the man’s boldness”.  The neighbor got up and gave him as much as he needed.

We can be bold and confident when we know God’s will because we know that our job is to ask and His job is to provide.  I know it is God’s will to minister to the spiritually wounded on the front lines of battle.  Phil and Sue have heard His call and have left all to come along side these servants of God.  Cheryl has heard His call to provide land.  Will I be a willing participant?  How about you?  Let’s boldly and confidently pray for the needed financial resources to bring this vision to reality.  Creator God owns it all!  Let us ask Him to provide what is needed in accordance with His will.  Please pray with us.  May we rejoice together as we see His plan unfold!  To God be the Glory!

In Him,
