Dear Prayer Partners,
Thanks to your prayers God continues to broaden our circle of influence among local pastors here. I’ve had the privilege of meeting with several more pastors personally and encourage them in their journeys. Often I find a surprising openness to share even in our first meeting.
One denominational pastor confided in me regarding the struggles both he and his wife are having as evangelicals in a church where he suspects a couple key leaders might not even be born again. It’s been an uphill battle to lead the congregation in that environment.
Significant things are happening in our pastors groups as well. For the first time, a pastor in one of our groups requested prayer concerning a significant marital issue. The others in the group were able to come alongside and be encouragers. God is confirming His blessing in many ways.
Since our last update, a church that has staff members in our groups volunteered to help us build an outdoor restroom facility on our Grace Valley property. This is to help us with events we host on the property while we are waiting for God’s provision for the additional land and building projects. We met with this group and it was pretty amazing how excited they are about building an elaborate outhouse! J Actually, I’m excited too, because its design will be better than anything we could’ve come up with. One of the guys on the team has experience with building these. Cheryl said after the meeting, “When God does something, he really does it right!”
Sue’s health coaching has been making a difference for the kingdom as well. Her client list now includes a pastoral couple and a pastor’s wife. In each relationship, she has found herself doing more than simply coaching for physical health. Often her clients open their hearts in ways that allow her to speak transforming truth into their lives. She is seeing some dramatic outcomes.
These developments are the result of your prayers, so keep them coming!
Speaking of health coaching, Grace Valley is co-sponsoring along with the Cherokee County Christian Ministry Association a one day seminar for pastors and their spouses by a nationally known health coach who works with 64 pastors from around the nation on a one-to-one basis. We are hopeful Sue’s ministry will serve as a follow up in this area.
Dick Germaine of Barnabas Ministries, Inc., whom I met at the Caregivers Forum a year ago and who has been used of God to spearhead a movement of pastors meeting with pastors has invited me to join him and his national ministry directors for an upcoming retreat. He sees God is blessing what we are doing here and is flying me up to Massachusetts in a couple weeks for this event. He also wrote a letter on our behalf to a foundation that provides grants for Pastoral Renewal in Georgia and New England only. Please pray that God may give us favor with this foundation and also for my upcoming trip. My prayer is that God will use this to be of help to both their ministry and that of Grace Valley.
God has answered prayer and Beverly Richardson will be joining our team for six months out of the year to help counsel missionaries and plan events for spiritual formation.
- Pray for God’s leading and blessing as I continue to connect with local pastors and form groups.
- Pray for wisdom, strength, grace and good health as Sue, Cliff, and I have opportunities in counseling, and for those individuals we are counseling.
- Pray for God’s provision for our support and that of the Hamiltons and for our ability to obtain some form of health insurance.
- Pray for the future of Grace Valley in terms of the development of our campus and the unlimited opportunities that are before us.
Finally, let me thank you again for your faithful prayers on our behalf. God is encouraging us daily and we are praying He is doing the same for you.
Much love in Christ,
Phil (& Sue)
