“Dear brothers and sisters, honor those who are your leaders in the Lord’s work. They work hard among you and give your spiritual guidance. Show them great respect and wholehearted love because of their work. And live peacefully with each other.” (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13)
What better way to honor, respect and wholeheartedly love our pastors than to faithfully lift them up in prayer! Pastors are constantly under attack and dealing with the pressures of not only their own personal and family lives, but also the pressures of families in the church. Satan knows that if he can take a pastor out, he has the potential of taking out the entire congregation.
As members of the body of Christ, we can be proactive in the fight and support our pastors in the best possible way through prayer. The following list will give you ideas on how you can pray for your pastor and help maintain the health of your church. Ask the Holy Spirit to direct you as to pray, and place on your heart any areas of specific need.
