Sometimes you get a clearer sense than others that God is sovereign and directing the affairs of our lives. As I look back on my ministry experiences through the years, I can now see much more clearly that I was simply borne along by the good hand of God in many of the things I had part of. This is one of those moments I’m feeling it most.
I continue to marvel at the impact the addition of the Stumbos has made to the carrying forward of the vision of Grace Valley Ministries. God has shown Ken enormous favor as he has joyfully and humbly pressed forward in learning all about our property, county requirements, necessary infrastructure and the options before us as we plan to build our first cottage. God has led him to a surprising number of key individuals in a short period of time who have been helpful with necessary wisdom and information.
This morning I was blessed to accompany Ken to a meeting with various county officials who welcomed us in to look over our preliminary plan for the property and to offer us their insights. We left that meeting much better informed about what we can and cannot do with the property we currently have. Much of what we heard was good news. There are no problems with our plans to build four of the cottages on our current land. The bad news is that we have to cross a flood plane to reach them. Two timber bridges crossing the creek and the secondary stream will have to be installed to meet the 100 year flood requirements. Pray for us as we explore the ways and means to accomplish this. It’s a small thing for God.
Another key prayer request: We are attempting to contact the owners of a small plot of land near the entry of our property that could prove key to improving access should we be able to purchase it. Pray the Lord grants us favor in our attempts to reach out to them, explain our vision and seek the opportunity to purchase the land.
We will keep you informed. Our plan is to create materials we can use to present the vision and inform potential donors, but we first have to gather all the necessary information. Continue to pray for wisdom as key decisions are being made.
Meanwhile, all the other aspects of the ministry are continuing and doing well. The eight pastors groups continue to meet with new members being added. Counseling and the offer of stays in the Oasis are ongoing. Thanks so much for your love, prayers and support. We are eternally grateful for your partnership.
